Online video and how to re-purpose content across a variety of media channels. There are many different ways that you can utilise or ‘re-purpose’ video content

so that it works for you across a variety of media platforms. Using content in a variety of ways like this makes it very cost-effective and allows you to plan a whole content marketing programme around a relatively small amount of video content. That way a half-day or a day spent recording a video clip can turn into several months’ worth of online video content. Here are five ways that you can re-purpose your online video content:   1/ Transcribe the audio and use for Facebook, tweets and your website blog 2/ Grab still photos and use for Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, e-newsletter and your website 3/ Post edited online video clips into Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo and your website and link to them from your email signature 4/ Make a ‘show reel’ to promote your business and use at trade shows or events 5/ Use the video for DVD giveaways or screening at point of sale, a trade show, or power point presentations   Top tip: Make a plan that identifies all the ways that you would like to use your video content before you start filming. This will help you make sure you capture exactly what you need. Here is an example of Tandem repurposing video we filmed at this years Ellerslie International Flower Show. Using the video footage, photos and time lapse, we re-edited the content into a ‘promo’ video of the entire show. This new promo will be used to showcase the event to current sponsors and to help visually promote the event to new sponsors etc for the next show in 2014. The online video is published through You Tube, Twitter, Facebook and for use as a sales tools through newsletters, public meetings and power point presentations.
