Disaster Advice for Cantabrians

We’re back to business at Tandem and today we recorded a series of podcasts with Psychologist Jonathan Black, and he recorded one that concentrated on the very topical issue of the psychological effects of the disaster and advice on how to help get back to normal and reassure children, and also what business owners can do to to reconstruct not only their businesses, but their lives.
Jonothan Black’s website is www.farsightglobal.co.nz and he is speaking to Andy Collyer.

Please feel free to re-distribute to other people, other sites or re-blog it.

Finding the Field leaps into round two

Michael Brown’s Finding the Field has made it through to the second round of the Next Top Spiritual Author competition.

In spite of this competition, aimed at landing a traditional publisher, the printed book is available now, through www.findingthefield.com. The Order Now button takes you directly to the right page on Amazon Books – the only way to get a copy until Michael signs up with a traditional publisher.

You can of course download free podcasts of the book – recorded at Tandem – by clicking here.

Michael has already received some good feedback from readers. Here are some typical comments:

“I sat and read it in one sitting. It is wonderful and will touch a lot of people I am sure.”

Timaru vet podcasts to the world

So people can understand why their animals do what they do, a vet in Timaru is sharing his knowledge through podcasts.

The series is called Animals Get Sick Too and Dr Bryan Gregor chats about things like – how to stop your dog chewing things, what breeds are in your cross-bred pet and why your cat sprays around the house.

His podcasts can also be downloaded for free at iTunes. It’s a popular site, and has some good feedback from people who have downloaded them.

It is a programme from the Highfield Veterinary Centre, Timaru, and Dr Gregor invites comments on the podcasts or a question, topic or suggestion for future podcasts – contact him on vetpodcast@gmail.com. You can also listen to the podcasts here.

Here is a sample of his latest podcast:

Case Study: Richard Dawkins podcast

Tandem Studios was proud to collaborate with the Christchurch Press recently to bring you Richard Dawkins’ lecture held recently at the town hall. Richard Dawkins is one of the worlds most promenent evolutionary biologists and atheists, and in promoting his latest book ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ gave a 2 hour talk at the Christchurch Town Hall.

Podcasting is the perfect vehicle for distributing this kind of long-form content, and we’ve used it sucessfully to promote lectures, talks, and presentations in a variety of situations.

If you do not record events like these, then they are lost forever. It is so easy to capture this content and make it available forever so that it has a much larger effect over a longer time.
