CBHS dominates CHARTFEST
The winners of the 2010 CHARTFEST band team search is Christchurch Boys’ High School’s Custard Bear.
They took out the media/journalist, artwork and grand prize categories impressing the judges with their songwriting, originality and musicality.
Custard Bear won the grand prize of a Yamaha Stagepas 300 P.A system courtesy of CJ’s Musicworks and the opening slot on the CPIT ZM Main Stage at CHARTFEST 2010 7pm, Friday 28 May.
CHART Manager Jeff Fulton said that “for the first year of this new competition, the judges were impressed by how these school bands managed to organise themselves into a team and create a MySpace profile. A team of managers, graphic designers, media and online is the future of the music industry and its great to see it being taken up at school level”.
Custard Bear also won a professionally recorded, mixed and mastered single courtesy of Tandem Studios and The Sitting Room
