This year we’ve been working on an exciting project and we’d love to share it with you.

In June TANDEM was commissioned by the Christchurch City Council to produce a documentary on the 150th anniversary of the 2nd Canterbury Nelson Marlborough West Coast Battalion Group (2Cants) as part of ‘BECA Heritage Week’. The Council used the premiere of this 22 minute film at the Christchurch Art Gallery as the opening event for ‘BECA Heritage Week’ celebrations.

This local battalion is and has been a major part of many people’s lives in the South Island. The 2Cants have been involved in all major conflicts overseas and have produced amazing stories such as Capt’ Charles Upham (double VC winner) among many others.

“Citizen Soldier Ake Ake Kia Kaha” was shown throughout BECA Heritage Week and will screen on CTV November 7 and 8.

It’s inspirational and a fantastic tribute to all who have served in 2Cants. It is also a great piece of our history and well worth watching!
